HomeMy WebLinkAboutPLANNING MINUTES 1949-03-24REGULAR MEETING March 24. 1949 Minutes of the regular meeting of the Livonia Township Zoning Commission, held in the Township Hall, Thursday, Mar. 24th, 1949. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Johnston at 8 P.M. Mmebers present: Carson Johnston, Chairman, George Bentley, Robert Rewey, Walter Russell and Attorney John Ambrose. The minutes of the meeting of Feb. 24th were read by Mr. Bentley. On motion by Mr. Russell, seconded by Mr. Rewey, these minutes were adopted as read. A letter from Mr. Wm. H. Aston of 20170 Haggerty Road was read. This concerns a gravel pit which has been operating about 10 days on the property of M. P. Kenney, 39000 Seven Mile Road. This is an A-G-2-B district, and does not permit such an operation without approval of the Board of Appeals. Mr. Bentley moves that the Building Inspector be instructed to put a Stop Order on this work until the owners come before the Board of Appeals. Seconded by Mr. Russell. Motion carried. A letter from the Central Racing Association was read by Mr. Bentley = this concerns a request for installing and operating an automobile race track on the property owned by K. W. and Clarence Rathburn on the Northeast corner of Plymouth and Middlebelt Roads. Mr. Irwin W. Davis, Manager, was present, and was advised by this Board that permission for such usage cannot be granted on a tract of land containing less than 200 acres - also that the Zoning would have to be change to an M-1 requirement. This would have to be done by the owners of the property. Mr. Davis stated he would contact the owners and proceed at a later meeting. There being no further business to come before the Board, on motion by Mr. Bentley, seconded by Mr. Russell, the meeting was adjourned at 8:35 P.M. Approved:. C. g ton, Chairman GeorgN.
