Passbook Account Balance-Estimated $ 9,229.28 B. Trust Fund Account Balance-Estimated $21,690.24 Motions:  Backpack Program: Approval was given for the $2,000.00 donated by Zeal Credit Union to be used for the 2024 Backpack Program along with donated school supplies. o Motion 23-9-1: The Motion was made by Commissioner McCann and seconded by Commissioner Porter. Motion carried. Announcements and Communications:  Backpack Program: Commission to contact LPS for the requested school supply list for each grade. Commission to look for a space to reserve for 2024 backpack program event. Commissioner McCann to coordinate with Goodfellows of Livonia. Commission to look for local donations of school supplies. Discussed possible conflicts with students having the day off school. Transportation and attendance could be impacted. Commissioner Bonanno to communicate concerns and possible work arounds with Director of Secondary Programs & District Services for LPS, Kevin Etue. Commission to contact Schoolcraft College event coordinator regarding possibly moving date of even to later in the week. o Survey Distribution: Teachers at each LPS high school will oversee distribution of surveys, as well as permission slips for students planning to attend the event. o Day-of Agenda: Commission Bonanno proposed a tentative outline for the day-of agenda for the event. Commissioners to look for possible keynote speakers.  Setting New Budget: New budget for fiscal year 2024 discussed at the meeting. Commissioner McCann to draft budget proposal based on said discussion for review and th possible approval at October 10, 2023 meeting. Meeting dates in 2023:  Proposed dates: th o Thursday, October 10 at 6 pm Fourth Floor Conference Room at Livonia City Hall. nd o Thursday, November 2 at 6 pm Fourth Floor Conference Room at Livonia City Hall. Additional dates can be scheduled with approval. Adjournment: Motion 23-9-2: The motion was made by commissioner Bonanno and seconded by commissioner McCann to adjourn at 7:14 P.M. Motion carried. th Next meeting is on October 10, 2023, at 6 P.M. in the Livonia City Hall, fourth floor conference room.
